On Thursday October 8, 2026 Peter passed away at his Chatswood Retirement Village home of 5 ½ years, aged 100 years 3 days. He had a loving 66-year marriage to the late Noeline, and was a proud and supportive father to Randal and Darryl and a loving Poppa to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Peter led a full and fulfilling life working in retail, as an auction assistant, fruiterer, hotel and catering functions manager, and crematorium concierge. He was a life member of The Christchurch Liedertafel Male Voice Choir for 60 years, and was involved in Probus and played croquet.

Peter’s funeral service will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entry from Whitmore or London Streets Richmond Christchurch, on Tuesday October 13, at 1pm. Livestream of the funeral is available via johnrhind.co.nz on Peter’s notice in “Upcoming Funerals”.
