MOFFATT, Murray Francis:

In his 90th year – on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Ngaio Marsh Rest Home. Dearly loved husband of Carol for 67 years. Loved Dad of John, Linda and Brian; Grandad of Holly, William, Jessica, Hayley, Hannah and Libby; and Great-Grandad of Joshua, Lachie, Leon, Luke, Riley and Amelia.

You will be greatly missed by us all.

Thanks for the wonderful care provided by the Ward A5 staff at Christchurch Hospital and especially by the team at Ngaio Marsh who looked after Murray during his final days.

Murray loved words, Shakespeare, Spike Milligan and enjoyed art later in life.  ‘Said Hamlet to Ophelia, I’ll draw a sketch of thee. What kind of pencil shall I use? 2B or not 2B?’ seems rather apt.

A private cremation has taken place in accordance with Murray’s wishes and a gathering for family and friends will be advised at a later date.
