McKENZIE, Dorothea:

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025, aged 96 years.

Devoted wife to the late Bill McKenzie. Dearly loved mother of Mark, Donnamaree, Luke, Garth and Todd, and much loved mother-in-law of Del, Phil, Denise, and Shar. Grandmother of Jenny, Kym, Reid and Gemma, and Emma, and great-grandmother of Luca and Wyatt.

Dorothea lived a long and beautiful life filled with faith, love, and devotion. A woman of quiet strength and enduring grace, she was a steadfast servant of the Catholic faith, drawing guidance and comfort from her deep conviction throughout her years.

She was deeply trusted and respected as the matriarch of the McKenzie family who are grateful for a life well lived and for the many blessings she shared so freely. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those she loved who have gone before her.

The Rosary will be recited at 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 22, at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Manchester Street, Christchurch, where Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 23 at 10:30am.
