Maree Jean Williamson

The Williamson family are heartbroken to announce the unexpected death of their beautiful Mum and Granny, Maree Williamson, on 3 January 2026. Maree was travelling in Mexico after attending a family wedding.

Reunited now with her beloved husband, Neil and survived by her six children : Jerome and Sue, Nicola and Robert, Melanie and Phil, Greg and Helen, Julie and Reuben, and Ri and Tamara: and her 23 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Maree was the light in our family which unites us, our brilliant, strong, warm, wise and positive Mum and Granny. We all feel incredibly lost without her.

A Requiem Mass for Maree will be celebrated at St Mary’s Pro Cathedral, 373 Manchester Street, Christchurch, on Monday, January 26, at 10.30am followed by interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, corner of Cypress Street and Ruru Road. The Vigil Service will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 116 Lonsdale Street, New Brighton, on Sunday, January 25, at 7.00pm.
