Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Nurse Maude Hospice on Sunday May 18, 2025, aged 73 years. Beloved wife of Mary Gousmett (Fraser). Dearly loved Dad, Father-in-law and Stepdad of Bryce, Sharyn and Adrian, Julia and Michiel; Sarah, Damian and Sarah, Sam and Kath. Much loved Granddad of Delilah and Lorelei; Flynn and Beth; Maddie and Eadie; Jak; Amelia; Sam, Isabelle, Blake and Ben. Michael will be sadly missed by his extended family, many friends and colleagues. Many thanks to the Palliative Care team and the staff at Nurse Maude Hospice for all their loving care of Michael.  In accordance with Michael’s wishes his body has been bequeathed to the Otago Medical School. In lieu of flowers donations to the Nurse Maude Hospice Christchurch would be appreciated and may be made online via their website. A memorial service will be held at the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore Streets, Friday 30th May at 10.00am.
