On Saturday, 6 September, 2025 at Burwood Hospital, aged 78 years. John passed away peacefully in his beloved wife Joy’s arms after a short illness.  John was a loving caring husband of Joy McCaskey, cherished brother of Pauline and Peter, loved father of Dean & Glenn, treasured stepfather of Ashton & Ngaio, Brendon & Charlotte, & Cameron, and adored grandfather of Lewis, Bella, Millie, Josh, Jack, Elliott, Katie & Poppy.
John’s funeral service will be held in the John Rhind Chapel, entrance from London or Whitmore Streets, Richmond, Christchurch on Friday, 12 September, at 1:00pm.

A celebration of John’s life will follow at 3.00pm at Club Redcliffs, 9 James Street, Redcliffs, Christchurch.
